Flower essences & Room sprays

The earliest use of medicinal plants recorded is approximately 5000 years ago where information was found on a Sumerian clay slab with 12 drug recipes using plants such as Poppies, Henbane and Mandrake (Petrovaska 2012, Parmacognsy review).  Today we know some of the healing properties found in plants through scientific research extracting their pharmacological properties. However; with the constant advancement in science, it would be foolish to think that scientists have the technology to reveal all the secrets of plants just yet.  

Here at Kijana I use plants in many different ways for healing.  I use ethanolic and water extracts of fresh and dried herbs with liquid herbs and teas.  I use environmental exposure therapy (fancy way of saying prescribing time in nature for healing) and I use flower essences.  Flower essences became renowned for their healing properties through the work of Edward Bach in 1935.  You may have heard of his rescue remedy for acute anxiety.  Since then there have been many practitioners making their own flower essence mother tinctures which have dramatic and helpful effects.  I use the Australian Bush Flower essences predominately in my blends as I feel they resonate with me personally. I too am from the area of Sydney where their founder Ian White first discovered their use so I feel it is fitting for me to use them.  There are however times where I will use other ranges such as the Bach flower essences and Spirit of Woman by Annie Meredith (fantastic range of essences developed specifically with women in mind).

What are flower essences?  Flower essences are a form of energetic healing where the essence of the flower is captured in purified water in a crystal bowl.  They are useful to help unwrap emotional layers that can be blocking the healing process.  Flower essences can be used for all ages and each essence is tailored to the individual after a one-on-one consultation. 

Consultations are $45 for 20 minutes which includes your personalised essence.  Postage is $9 to most areas in Australia.

Room Sprays:  I also make a range of room sprays infused with flower essences and essential oils which, due to their compact size, can be used anywhere.  They are also suitable as a perfume for those who are looking for a more natural fragrance. ​  Room Sprays are $50 with a consult or $30 for a repeat spray and postage is $9 to most areas in Australia.
